Corrections — the most useful thing you can send
A correction is easiest to act on when it names three things: the page you were on, the figure you think is wrong, and what it should be. If you have a source, that closes the loop immediately; if you do not, say so and I will go looking. Screenshots help for layout problems and are unnecessary for numbers.
Two categories are especially welcome. First, a source that has moved or been rewritten — every figure here has a retrieval date precisely because published pages change under you, and the site cannot notice that on its own. Second, a figure that contradicts something published locally: a municipal fee schedule, a utility load-hours table, a state rebate document. Those are the sources this site is thinnest on and the ones a reader is far more likely to have in front of them than I am.
Adding a jurisdiction
The permits page has one city on it because one city’s fee schedule has been read and verified. If your building department publishes a mechanical permit fee schedule with a line covering air handlers or mini-splits, send the link. That is a genuinely useful contribution and it takes about a minute.
What this site cannot do
It cannot design your system. Sizing equipment for a specific house means measuring window areas and orientations, checking insulation, and running a room-by-room load calculation, and no table can substitute for that. The tools here get you close enough to judge whether a proposal is sane, which is a different and more modest job.
It also cannot recommend a contractor, a brand or a model. There is no affiliate relationship with anyone in this industry and no list of preferred installers, which means there is nothing to recommend from. Get three itemised quotes and compare them line by line — the quote-scope guide is the closest thing to help I can honestly offer there.
Response time
This is one person, so a few days is normal and a busy week is longer. Corrections get priority over everything else, because a wrong number sitting live is worse than a slow reply.
